AAP objects to ED opposing Kejriwal’s bail plea and files a complaint in the Supreme Court

NEW DELHIThe Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Thursday said Arvind Kejriwal’s legal team on Thursday strongly objected to the affidavit filed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in the Supreme Court opposing the Prime Minister’s interim bail plea from Delhi.

A formal complaint has been filed in this regard with the Supreme Court Registry, denouncing the ED’s statement as “blatant disregard of legal process”, especially considering that the case will be finally decided by Friday the highest court. She also alleged that the affidavit was filed without the approval of the SC.

The AAP questioned the ED’s objection to Kejriwal’s interim bail and said it is common knowledge that even after two years of investigation by the ED into the alleged liquor policy scam, not a single rupee or evidence has been recovered that anyone is in jail slanders. Aam Aadmi Party.

Further, the grounds for arrest of Kejriwal are based on statements of other persons involved in the case viz. Magunta Sreenivasulu Reddy, Sarath Reddy, Satya Vijay Naik and a close aide of an ex-BJP CM, the AAP claimed.

The ED has solely relied on the statements of these suspects-turned-witnesses who have direct links with and benefit from the BJP, the report said.

For example, Magunta Sreenivasulu Reddy, who received an NDA Lok Sabha ticket, made a statement to facilitate the bail of his son, Raghav Reddy, the AAP claimed, adding that another approver, P. Sarath Reddy, donated Rs 60 crore sent to the BJP. bill through electoral bonds to secure his bail.

“Some statements do not even indicate the commission of money laundering or any predicate crime. “All the evidence against Arvind Kejriwal, as reflected in the grounds of arrest, has come after the arrest of all these people, leading to suspicion that the arrest has been systematically used as a means to extract statements against Arvind Kejriwal,” the AAP said.

Earlier on Thursday, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) opposed Kejriwal’s interim bail plea, saying a politician cannot claim “special status” higher than that of an ordinary citizen and is at equal risk of being arrested and detained for committing violations. like any other citizen.

The affidavit, filed by the ED deputy director, said that there is no principle that justifies differential treatment for a politician while campaigning against a farmer or a businessman seeking to ply his trade.

The case will be heard before the Supreme Court on Friday.
