Four family members die in a single accident in Bomet, along the Bomet-Olenguruone road

Four family members were killed in a horrific road accident that occurred near Tenwek Bridge on Bomet-Olenguruone Road on Thursday.

The accident occurred after the car lost control and hit a truck traveling in the same direction before rolling into a river next to the road.

While confirming the incident, Bomet Central Sub-Count Police Boss Musa Omar noted that the accident occurred when the two vehicles were heading towards Silibwet.

The police report further noted that three bodies had been recovered from the river so far. The bodies recovered include those of a man and two women.

According to the police boss, the body of a minor was still missing, but he confirmed that the search was still ongoing.

Further reports reveal tAfter plunging into the water, the car was thrown about 50 meters from the accident scene before being stopped by trees along the river.

Meanwhile, the driver of the truck fled the scene, while police confirmed an investigation had been launched.

After the accident, the wreckage of the ill-fated car was towed to Bomet Police Station to clear the way for further investigation.

The bodies of the deceased were shifted to Longisa Hospital Mortuary awaiting post-mortem.

The Bomet accident comes barely a month after seven family members were killed in a road accident in the Salama area of ​​Makueni County, along the Mombasa-Nairobi highway.

According to a police report, the The Salama accident took place on April 1 after a car the family members were traveling in collided head-on with a truck.

The seven died prematurely while on their way back home from Mombasa after an Easter holiday with other family members.
