Classic football brand Umbro is relaunched as the hardest streetwear brand of the year

When you think of classic football shirts, you immediately think of Umbro, who have been equipping football teams for more than 100 years.

2024 marks a new era for the brand, which has relaunched in Australia as one of Australia’s strongest streetwear labels, producing a new clothing line that goes far beyond the football pitch.

High fashion is not new to Umbro, as the Manchester-born brand has previously completed notable collaborations with fashion brands over the years, including Virgil Abloh’s Off-White, Vetements, Aries, Palace, and Supreme, and now their new Centenary collection takes the fusion between football and fashion to the next level.

Now that the new collection is available in Australia, here is our ranking of the top 5 pieces from the range:

1. Reversible Ramsey jacket

Umbro Ramsey jacket

Two jackets for the price of one? Say less.

The reversible Ramsey jacket is an updated look of a 60s Umbro classic and gives you two different looks, with the primary outer being a monogram blue, but on the other side the party starts.

The back of the jacket is decorated with a graphic gradient red/white/blue diamond pattern – essentially the athletic version of Will Smith’s Fresh Prince of Bel Air blazer.

A must agent.

2. Sunday Football long sleeve

Umbro Sunday football shirt

Long sleeve jerseys > short sleeve jerseys. This is just science.

This is close to the favorite piece from the new collection, a tribute to the long-sleeved sellers of football’s golden era. Shoutout David Beckham circa 1999.

Inspired by the football kits of the ’70s and ’80s, the Sunday Football shirt’s thick white cuffs and retro collar give a fresh look to a vintage silhouette.

3. Paneled windbreaker

Umbro paneled jacket

Sticking with the red/white/blue diamond graphic gradient, the windbreaker combines a vintage look with modern functionality.

If you want to stand out, this jacket makes a statement.

4. Jersey with linear print

Umbro jersey

Available in blue and green, this shirt features a simplistic yet detailed design for both on and off the pitch.

The intricate pinstripe with Umbro text, combined with the flat collar and V-insert, brings an old-world look into a new era.

Classic.

5. Filled tape tee

Keep it simple.

The tape T-shirt harkens back to the golden years of Umbro kits in the 90s and, with the logo sleeve, is an essential wardrobe staple.
