Protect democracy together! On May 25, 2024, the concept partners of DRESDEN and the alliance #WOD Weltoffenes Dresden invite you together with numerous partners to a major event for freedom and democracy in Dresden. As a powerful voice for science, art and culture, the participating scientific and cultural institutions want to set an example for democracy, cosmopolitanism and human rights. The aim is also to make clear that freedom of science and art is fundamental for a society that wants to overcome the great challenges of our time. The Chemnitz University of Technology (TUC) is a supporter of the big event.

From 2 p.m (Meeting from 1:30 PM) sitting in one Star March four trains run towards the center of Dresden. In addition to the Train from Fritz-Foerster-Platz get started three more star trains von Sachsenplatz, Albertplatz And Wettiner Platz. They meet at the Old marketwhere between 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM the central final event takes place. There will be a stage program with speeches and musical contributions. On the square, stands and various scientific and artistic exchange formats enable meetings and discussions. The members and family members of the TUC are invited to participate in this major event.

In the past, the TUC has repeatedly advocated tolerance, diversity and cosmopolitanism – in line with the commitment of the Senate, the Rectorate and the University Council of the TUC to these values, in which the three bodies include racist, racist, right-wing extremist or openly right-wing extremist values Resolutely oppose positions (see keyword).

Keyword: commitment of the Senate, the Rectorate and the University Council of the TUC for tolerance, diversity and cosmopolitanism

The TUC strongly advocates against discrimination and for tolerance, diversity and cosmopolitanism. She strives to consistently adhere to these principles internally and communicate them externally with confidence. This is also reflected in the commitment of the Senate, the Rectorate and the University Council of the TUC to tolerance, diversity and cosmopolitanism: “Chemnitz University of Technology, as an educational and research institution, offers a home to people from all over the world and welcomes them no matter where they come from, what religion they belong to, what sexual orientation they have or what form of coexistence they choose. Based on this belief, we want a cosmopolitan and accepting climate not only on the university campus, but also beyond. We therefore firmly oppose statements and actions that contradict this concern, especially racist, right-wing extremist or even openly right-wing radical positions. We strongly urge all people with responsibility in politics, business, society and culture to continue to fight for an open and discrimination-free society and to stand up for the basic values of a free, democratic and open society!”
