Suffolk’s most dangerous neighborhoods revealed, including Ipswich and Bury St Edmunds, according to police crime figures from March 2024

Thousands of crimes are reported to police in Suffolk every month, including anti-social behaviour, burglaries and violent crimes.

Figures collected by SuffolkNews reveal some of the most dangerous areas in the county, based on the number of crimes reported in the last month for which data is available: March.

Below you can search your street to find out if Suffolk Police have recorded crimes in your area, and we also show how many crimes have been reported in some of the county’s biggest cities.

In October, 1,288 crimes were reported in Ipswich, with the Alexandra borough recording the most crimes in the city with 271 crimes, 98 of which were violent and sexual crimes.

Alexandra was followed by Westgate and St Margaret’s with 136 crimes reported, Gainsborough and Holywells with 118, and Stoke Park and Sprites with 111.

Bury St Edmunds saw a total of 442 crimes recorded – 214 of them in the north of the city, 140 in the south of the city, 73 in the rural north and 15 in the rural south.

Police data shows that in March 217 crimes were reported in Haverhill, 144 in Sudbury, 148 in Newmarket and also 98 in Felixstowe.
