Boobay fainted during the Aparri event due to bright lights

Boobay he said fainted while hosting the recent Aparri event due to the bright lighting at the venue, but he assured fans that he is now fine and “ready to fight.”

The comedian addressed his concerned fans a day after the incident made headlines, via the Facebook page of his GMA program “The Boobay and Tekla Show” on Wednesday, May 8.

“Gusto ko lang po iparating sa inyong lahat na ako po ay ok na ok, at nais ko lang pong pasalamatan ang ating mga minamahal na Kapuso, kamag-anak, mga kaibigan na nag-alala,” said the comedian who was all glam while he made a video of himself.

“Don’t worry, dahil, here I am, Boobay, buhay na buhay and ready to fight. Ayon nga po, tayo po ay hinimatay dahil lamang po sa malakas na ilaw,” he explained.

Boobay further noted that despite the incident, he was able to continue the show and bring happiness to the audience.

Boobay organized the city party together with fellow comedian Pepita Curtis. Pepita was performing an improvised play with an audience member on stage when Boobay suddenly lost consciousness.

A few minutes later, a lively Boobay returned to the stage and exchanged jokes with Pepita, poking fun at what had happened.

However, this is not the first time that Boobay has experienced a medical incident on live television. We remember in April last year that he had an absent-minded fit during a live interview with TV presenter Boy Abunda.

The comedian announced at the time that his condition was the result of a mild stroke in 2016.
