The Palestinian death toll from the ongoing Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip has risen to 34,844, Gaza health authorities said in a press statement on Wednesday.

Over the past 24 hours, the Israeli army has killed 55 Palestinians and injured 200 others, bringing the total death toll to 34,844 and the number of wounded to 78,404 since the Palestinian-Israeli conflict broke out last October, the army said.

The statement noted that some victims remain under the rubble due to heavy bombardments and a lack of civil protection and ambulance personnel.

Meanwhile, at least 35 Palestinians were killed in overnight Israeli airstrikes on the southernmost city of Rafah, medical sources told Xinhua.

Israel has launched a full-scale offensive against Hamas in the Gaza Strip in retaliation against the Hamas disaster along Israel’s southern border on October 7, 2023, killing around 1,200 people and taking around 250 hostage.
