Chorale concert, international dinner, more

Lansing

All Souls Parish, 3010 Ridge Road: South Holland Master Choir will perform on May 19 at 4 p.m. “A Mass for Troubled Times, a Call for Peace” combines music from the 18th and 21st centuries. The chorale and orchestra, conducted by Philip J. Bauman, will perform the piece “I Thank You God for Most This Amazing Day” by contemporary American composer Dan Forrest, based on a text by EE Cummings, combined with the “ Mass for Troubled” from 1798. Incarnation St. Terrence, 4300 W. 119th Place: International Tasting Dinner from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on May 20 at St. Terrence’s Worship Service. It’s a spring book fair for adults from 4 to 8 p.m. A curated selection of books and literary gifts is paired with food from the restaurant and drinks from Bizzaro & Son. St. Augustine Parish, 4130 147th St.: Mass at 4:30 p.m. May 18 in celebration of the 100th anniversary of St. Christopher School, 14611 Keeler Ave. The celebration will follow the Mass and will take place in the school gymnasium. The Franciscan Sisters of Dubuque will be honored for their 100-year presence at the school, and food, drinks, DJs, raffles and other entertainment are planned. Tickets for the reception are required by May 13. The cost is $20 for adults and $10 for children under 16. They are sold online or in parish and school offices. First United Methodist Church of Oak Lawn, 100th Street and Central Avenue: Ladies High Tea at 2 p.m. on May 18. The theme is Roaring ’20s and Swing Junction will make a guest appearance. St. Alexander Church, 7025 W. 126th St.: Blooming for Babies Mother’s Day fundraiser after all masses on May 11 and 12. Proceeds will benefit the Women’s Centers of Greater Chicagoland.
