NSW Police allege Noah Touma, 20, dressed as food delivery driver before shooting into Top Gear Gym in Wentworthville

A second man has been charged with attempted murder after he allegedly posed as a food delivery driver and attempted to shoot a UFC fighter inside a Western Sydney gym earlier this year.

Emergency services were called to Top Gear Gym in Wentworthville on February 20 about 7:45pm after reports of shots fired into a Wentworth Avenue business.

No injuries were reported from the incident.

A short time later a white scooter was found on fire less than two kilometers away.

After months of inquiries, police turned up to a home in Campsie early on Wednesday about 4am and arrested 20-year-old Noah Touma.

Police will alleged Touma disguised himself as a food delivery driver as he rode a white scooter to the vicinity of the gym.

According to The Daily Telegraph, the 20-year-old was once a promising rugby league development player with the Canterbury Bankstown Bulldogs.

He was charged with 10 offenses including shoot with intent to murder, discharge firearm with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, possess unauthorized pistol, face blackened or disguise to commit indictable offense and drive while disqualified.

It is believed Touma’s target was former UFC fighter Suman Mokhtarian.

Detectives had previously charged Usman Chami, 19, who assisted police allege as a “spotter” nearby while Touma readied himself for the shooting.

It is alleged the 20-year-old fired a single shot close range but missed.

The firearm then jammed which allowed Mokhtarian and others in the gym to flee.

It is then alleged Touma chased the ex-UFC fighter through the venue and fired at least three more shots – after the gun started working again – which all missed.

He was refused bail to appear at Bankstown Local Court on Thursday.

Investigations into the shooting are ongoing.
