Jelly Roll Completes 5K After Weight Loss: ‘Really Emotional’

Jelly Roll celebrates a major fitness milestone.

After losing about 80 pounds, the 39-year-old Grammy-nominated country singer completed a 5K race in California on Tuesday, hosted by comedians Bert Kreischer and Tom Segura.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight at the event, Jelly Roll said he became “very emotional” at the finish line.

“I couldn’t run a mile when I started trying to do this in January,” the “Need a Favor” singer said, adding that he feels “really, really good” about finishing the race. “I left here feeling very motivated.” He also revealed to ET that he plans to compete in a half marathon next year.

Jelly Roll’s wife, Bunnie XO, celebrated his achievement with an Instagram video showing him in a cold plunge. “What a beautiful day with beautiful people!” she wrote. “So proud of my baby doing the 5k and losing 50 pounds in the process!”

In April, Jelly Roll told People that he lost “70 pounds” while preparing for the event. “I do two to three miles a day, four to six days a week,” he said. “I spend 20 to 30 minutes in the sauna every day, and six minutes in a cold dip. I eat healthy now.” He added that he was feeling “really good” and planned to lose “another 100, 100 and then some (pounds).”
