Alstom is receiving global recognition for its sustainability and corporate social responsibility initiatives in Canada

Alstom, the world leader in smart and sustainable mobility, has received the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Commitment Label in Canada, Confirmed, which is the second highest rating of four possible levels. This recognition for alignment with the international standard ISO 26000 comes from the independent third party Groupe AFNOR (Association Française de Certification) and demonstrates Alstom Canada’s commitment to sustainable and responsible business operations.


Canada is the first country in the Alstom Americas region to receive this certification. AFNOR’s assessment evaluates how CSR is embedded in the company’s strategic priorities, functions and processes, as well as its external stakeholders. The criteria assessed were defined based on eight central themes: vision and governance, integration of social responsibility, human resources and labor practices, production methods, regional presence and community involvement, as well as environmental, social and economic indicators.

Canada is the eighth country where Alstom has received the label, joining Alstom in Australia, Belgium, France, India, Italy, the United Kingdom and Spain. Alstom wants to expand the number of countries covered by the label to twelve by 2025.
