Event Network | wins SEAL Sustainable Product Award

Event Network, a leading operator of experiential attraction stores in the UShas been honored with a SEAL Sustainable Product Award for Wearsponsible, its new clothing line.

SEAL (Sustainability, Environmental Achievement & Leadership) Awards is an environmental advocacy organization that funds research, promotes environmental impact initiatives and recognizes leadership in its awards for business sustainability and environmental journalism.

The SEAL Awards reward the most sustainable companies in the world. Event Network received a SEAL Award in 2019 for its groundbreaking redesign of plastic-free toy packaging. In 2021, it was recognized again for its success in designing and building environmentally friendly retail environments. The company has now been recognized with the SEAL Sustainable Product Award for its products Wear responsibly clothing line.

Event Network understands the importance of representing its partners by providing excellent shopping experiences that enhance and promote environmental missions.

Michael McCrory, marketing director of Event Network, said: “If we can do that with a product like Wearsponsible, it will bring meaningful changes to our industry. We are honored that this product resonates with our partnerships and with our guests.”

Event Network’s buying team has led the initiative from the start. Abby Kessler, a senior member of the purchasing team says: “We have been committed to sustainability and conservation for years, but we realized that being responsible means we are all in this together, from the CEO to the consumer, we are responsible for what we ourselves have things under control. ”

Event Network’s Wearsponsible organic clothing collection is an example of the company’s evolving approach to providing ethically sourced and environmentally friendly retail environments and product ranges to its partners.

The new collection is fully traceable from seed to sewing, with environmental and social impact audits carried out at every stage. Fair Labor Certification ensures safe and fair labor standards are met through audited systems and supply chain improvement programs.

Event Network wins SEAL Sustainable Product Award display

The first run of Wearsponsible t-shirts used 100% organic, non-GMO cotton t-shirts with an OCS (Organic Content Standard) certification. The latest line is GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) certified.

Kessler explains: “We have been very clear from the beginning that this is a work in progress. We are now working on getting our sweatshirts GOTS certified. It’s about taking every next step.”

Event Network is also celebrating a major advance in its field Plastic STOPS initiative. The company has launched its first plastic-free shopping experience in partnership with the New England Aquarium and as part of its Common Thread Pledge. Event Network is the first in the industry to take this important step toward integrating environmental stewardship, one of the company’s long-standing core values, with the critical mission of the New England Aquarium.

Recently, Event Network announced that it will continue to serve as Official Retail Partner of the Indianapolis Zoo. This successful collaboration has lasted 22 years.
