LOCKHART, Robert “Bob” – It is with sadness and relief that we announce the peaceful passing of Robert “Bob” Lockhart, a beacon of positivity and love! Bob passed away on Monday, May 6, 2024 at his home in Niagara-on-the-Lake, surrounded by family and love.
Born August 4, 1942, Bob spent his life exemplifying the virtues of kindness and joy, leaving behind a resounding legacy cherished by all who knew him. His jovial nature, engaging smile and silly antics brought laughter and light to the lives of many, creating joyful memories for those fortunate enough to cross his path.
Bob showed extreme strength and courage in making all his decisions regarding his cancer treatments. Everyone around him felt blessed and appreciated, the time he spent creating precious memories.
Bob, a sweet soul, cherished a beautiful relationship with his beloved family. He cherished and loved his wife Joan of 62 years. His daughters Sharon (Rob) and Lyndsey (Greg) were his heartbeat and he cherished the time he spent with them, both as little girls and as adults. He adored his grandchildren, Jordan (Lucy), Sara (Gary), James, Noah, Ben (Robyn), Alex, Maya and Laura, whose lives were enriched by the unwavering love, support and giant hugs from their ‘Grandpa’ . Bob was also blessed with 2 incredibly adorable great-grandsons, Max and Joey. Bob will also be missed by his siblings, Aileen (the late John), Sid (Nancy), Ray (Carmen), John (Lynn), Brian (Juli), Julie (Danny), Pauline (Colin) and Kathleen (Bowman) ). ). He was a beloved uncle to many who are currently celebrating his life from England.
Bob will be sadly missed by good friends Mavis and Vince Swales & Joan (the late Barry) Wilson and her family. He was also loved by many friends and neighbors who considered him family.
To honor Bob’s life, a Celebration of Life ceremony will be held in England and at the Royal Botanical Rock Gardens in Hamilton on Friday, June 7, 2024; a setting suitable to commemorate a man with Bob’s vibrant character and love of nature.
Bob’s legacy is one of positivity and intense love for family. In his own words: “I’ve had a good life. I have a wonderful family and brilliant friends. I love you all. I’m at peace with it….”
