‘Malignant actor’ behind large-scale hack of British soldiers, says Sunak

A “malicious actor” has likely compromised the British military’s payments system, Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said yesterday after reports that China had hacked a database of personal information held by the armed forces.

The BBC and other media reported that China was behind the cyber attack on the payroll system used by the British Ministry of Defense (MoD), which contained names and bank details of those serving in the Royal Navy, Army and Royal Air Force.
