PakTech’s recycling partnership with Endeavor Group

PakTech's recycling partnership with Endeavor Group

PakTech, a manufacturer of recyclable multipack packaging solutions, has announced a new partnership with Endeavor Group and the launch of its local manufacturing in Australia. The news comes as the range of multipack beverage cans sold in Australia have been assessed as recyclable through the Australian Packaging Covenant Organization’s (APCO) ARL program.

Through the partnership, PakTech and Endeavor Group will work together over the coming months to expand Endeavor Group’s closed loop recycling program, which aims to collect recyclable PakTech clips at more than 270 Dan Murphy stores. This plan will encourage the recovery, recycling and reuse of PakTech handles, helping to avoid landfills and reduce carbon emissions associated with packaging supply.

PakTech and its partners have the capacity to produce up to 75 million recycled multipack beverage cans in Australia annually. Locally, PakTech’s existing customers include Asahi, Billson’s, Hawkers Beer and a host of craft beer, seltzer and wine producers.

Commenting on the arrival in Australia, PakTech CEO Brandon Rogers said: “We are now able to deliver on our vision: made in Australia, recycled in Australia and repurposed into new products in Australia.

“Sustainability and the circular economy are no longer competitive differentiators, they are an expectation. We are excited to join forces with a leading brand in the Endeavor Group and to formally commence our on-site manufacturing here in Australia.”

PakTech products are manufactured with high-density polyethylene (HDPE), also known as #2 plastic. Through a process of recovery, recycling and remanufacturing, PakTech and its partners seek to maximize the collection of used materials, which are sorted, cleaned and processed through various facilities. The materials are then reused in new products. 100% of the HDPE plastic PakTech uses comes from recycled material, closing the loop on the circular economy.

Through this process and its technology, manufacturing and products, PakTech can help the food, beverage and consumer goods industries respond to the growing demand for 100% recycled and 100% recyclable packaging and practices.

“Endeavor is proud to partner with PakTech to support the continued recycling and reuse of PakTech products. PakTech products play a major role in reusing plastic from products such as milk bottles and cream containers,” says Sarah McElholum, Circular Economy Sustainability Manager at Endeavor Group.

PakTech’s launch in Australia will be through a contract manufacturing facility in Sydney, NSW, and a proprietary partnership with Visy. Using 100% recycled material, over a billion recycled milk bottles have been collected, shredded and extruded into pellets to create PakTech products worldwide.
