Phoebe Dynevor and Simone Ashley have ‘Bridgerton’ reunion at the Met Gala

The Duchess of Hastings and Viscountess Bridgerton reunited in style at the 2024 Met Gala.

Phoebe Dynevor and Simone Ashley, the stars of BridgertonThe series’ first and second seasons enjoyed a high fashion night out in New York City on Monday, May 6, respectively, when they were photographed on the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art during fashion’s biggest night.

Dynevor, 29, and Ashley, also 29, were seen leaving the gala together, and Ashley smiled as she descended the iconic stairs alongside Dynevor. Dynevor wore a custom pink lace dress by Victoria Beckham – the first time the designer had her work worn on the carpet – with more than 300 hand-cut flowers, while her costar wore a deep blue sequined dress by Nepalese designer Prabal Gurung with cut-out details. protrusions at her waist and a deep V-neck.

Beckham, 50, shared Fashion that the dress was designed specifically with Dynevor in mind, while praising her acting skills and calling her “a beautiful, talented young woman.”

“I really wanted to design the dress with her in mind, almost as an extension of her. We even hand-painted the flowers to match her skin,” Beckham said.

For Dynevor, being dressed by the Spice Girls alum was a dream come true. “My 10-year-old self could never have seen this coming,” she said Fashion.

Ashley and Dynevor weren’t the only ones Bridgerton stars walking the iconic carpet this year. They were also joined by their on-screen husband and brother respectively, Jonathan Bailey.

Bailey, who plays Viscount Anthony Bridgerton in the Netflix series and married Ashley’s character at the end of season 2, wore a black and white Loewe look with two light pink rosette details.

Although they were not photographed together at the event, Dynevor and Bailey returned to The Mark Hotel later in the evening to change into a new look for the evening’s after-parties. The duo left the hotel with Bailey, who plays Dynevor’s older brother on the show, leading the way while holding the actress’s hand. Dyenvor smiled and waved to onlookers as they left the busy hotel, where many of the evening’s A-listers were staying and getting ready.

This year’s event was a lighter showing of the Netflix series as only Dynevor, Ashley and Bailey, 36, appeared, while more stars from the show have attended in recent years.

In 2022, Nicola Coughlan – who takes the helm of the series this season alongside Luke Netwon – and Regé-Jean Page were present, along with Dynevor and Ashley. Last year, Bailey upheld the Bridgerton family name and was the only star to attend the Met Gala.

The upcoming third season of Bridgertonwhich premieres on Netflix on Thursday, May 16, will be the first without Dynevor’s character returning.

In January 2023, she revealed that she would “unfortunately” not be reprising her character, Daphne, but she is “excited to watch as a viewer” this time.

She told ScreenRant that she could “possibly” return in the future.

Bailey and Ashley will both reprise their roles in the third season as they take their places at the head of the titular family.

The actor teases that the new season is “going to be exciting” as Newton (31) and Coughlan (37) take over. “It will be fine,” he said E! News last year. “My brother Luke Newton provides the heat with Nicola.”
