Launched in 2013, Cù Bòcan focuses on barrel aging, with previous releases including a shōchū barrel-aged whiskey and a whiskey finished in Moroccan Cabernet Sauvignon and North American rye barrels.

Creation #6 is made with lightly peated Scottish barley and combines two expressions: one matured for nine years in Pedro Ximénez Sherry casks and one matured for ten years in Jamaican Rum casks.

The expression will be bottled at 46% ABV and will retail for £60 (US$75).

It offers ‘notes of toasted Jamaican ginger cake, campfire toffee and banana walnut bread’ on the nose, while the palate includes ‘amaretto cherries, salted licorice with caramel and spiced plum jam’.

Scott Adamson, blender and global brand ambassador at Tomatin Distillery, said: “Cù Bòcan is known for exploring innovative maturations, creating flavor-packed whiskeys guaranteed to intrigue and surprise.

“Continuing on this tradition, Creation #6 is a bold experiment where Europe and the Caribbean meet to create a whiskey that is rich, sweet and vibrant. Infused with signature subtle smoke and vibrant rum and raisins, it promises an unforgettable sensory journey.”
