AAP blames LG VK Saxena for ‘highest’ crime rate in Delhi, ‘police completely ruined’

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on May 7 blamed Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena for the deteriorating law and order situation in Delhi. The party, led by Arvind Kejriwal, has accused LG Saxena of ‘ruining’ the police force in the national capital.

AAP leader Saurabh Bharadwaj launched a direct attack on the Delhi Lieutenant Governor. During a press conference, he spoke about a number of incidents to highlight his claims about the city’s deteriorating justice system.

Bharadwaj spoke of a murder in Jaffrabad, where a man was murdered in broad daylight in front of other people. The AAP leader said the man, who was stabbed multiple times, was a witness to murder.

He was talking about a fire incident outside a car showroom in Tilak Nagar. The AAP leader also spoke about the killing of a BSF soldier.

“The public order situation has deteriorated in recent months. The National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) data shows that Delhi has the highest crime rate (in the country). For a population of one lakh, 1,832 crimes were reported. , seven times higher than the national average,” PTI quoted Bhardwaj as saying.

‘He can’t do what he should do. Instead, he points fingers at others,” he said.

“This shows the inefficiency of LG VK Saxena. He has two things to take care of: the police and the DDA (Delhi Development Authority). But under him, the police force has been completely ruined,” said the Delhi Health Minister.

According to the MLA from Greater Kailash, LG Saxena is unable to “supervise the police”. He asked the lieutenant governor to “do his own work and stop interfering in the work of the Delhi government”.

There was no immediate response from LG’s office.

AAP is accused of being funded by Khalistani groups

LG Saxena on May 6 recommended a fresh probe by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) against CM Kejriwal and his party. In a letter to the Home Ministry, he accused AAP of “receiving a staggering $16 million in funding from Khalistani groups between 2014 and 2022,” ANI reported.
