Mom Katy Perry Fooled By Singer’s ‘Met Gala Dress’

Katy Perry’s own mother was fooled by a fake AI image circulating online suggesting she had attended the Met Gala.

Last night (May 6), the annual Met Gala Ball was held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, with celebrities from all walks of life taking to the carpet in their usual eye-catching outfits.

One person who didn’t attend, however, was singer Katy Perry, who had to skip the invitation-only event due to “work.”

But in her absence, it appears someone used AI to create images of the star walking the Met Gala carpet in an imaginary cream-colored dress with a huge skirt decorated with flowers and green trim at the bottom.

Another AI-generated photo showed Perry in a metal corset with a key on the front and a skirt made of white roses and green leaves.

Perry shared the photos on Instagram, along with a screenshot of a text message from her mother who was clearly fooled by the photos.

Her mother had texted her: “I didn’t know you were going to the Met. What a beautiful dress, you look like Rose Parade, you are your own float lol.”

Perry replied: “lol mom, the AI ​​has you too, BEWARE!”

Another slide in the Instagram post showed Perry in the studio, hinting to excited fans that she may be working on new music.

In another subtle hint, she also captioned the post: “couldn’t make it to the MET, had to work.”

Despite the photos being fake, one fan argued: “The AI ​​image of you was better than any of tonight’s creations.”
