Naked Gowns That Caught Our Attention at the 2024 Met Gala • PhilSTAR Life

The trend of daring nude dresses has made its mark on countless red carpets, and this year’s Met Gala is no exception.

Hubadera stars from Em Rata to FKA Twigs embraced the ‘Garden of Time’ theme, inspired by the ‘Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion’ exhibition, with their bold interpretations.

The Met Gala, an annual event to benefit the Costume Institute of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, was co-chaired by a star-studded team including Zendaya, Jennifer Lopez, Bad Bunny, Chris Hemsworth and Fashionby Anna Wintour.

One of this year’s presenters, Jennifer Lopez, graced the annual event in a sheer dress that was over 2.5 million silver foil bugle beads and 800 hours to make.

To match her strapless Schiaparelli Haute Couture gown, J.Lo wore jewelry from Tiffany & Co., “including a Jean Schlumberger by Tiffany Bird on a Rock ring with a yellow diamond weighing over 4 carats, a white diamond weighing over 4 carats, and pink sapphires,” according to a press release.

Bridgerton star Phoebe Dynevor is the first to wear a Victoria Beckham piece to the Met Gala. Her “fairytale” look features a semi-sheer draped tulle and lace dress hand cut flowers.

“We decided to use vintage lace from our archives because there was something very romantic about reviving it and bringing it back to life – just like a sleeping beauty,” Victoria said. Fashion. “(Phoebe is) such a beautiful, talented young woman and I really wanted to design the dress with her in mind – to almost be an extension of her. We even hand-painted the flowers to match her skin.”

From last year’s cat outfit to this year’s wet look, Doja Cat is certainly adventurous when it comes to style.

Doja Cat was first spotted outside the Carlyle Hotel in New York, with a towel wrapped around her body (or what we call tapis) and a hair towel, plus a diamond necklace.

But later that night, the Paint the village red singer donned an oversized wet T-shirt dress that left little to the imagination.

Singer FKA Twigs was “dripping in lab-grown Stella McCartney diamonds” as she attended this year’s Met Gala. She paired her barely-there outfit with a cream coat and platform heels.

Elle Fanning looks like a real Disney princess in this glassy transparent dress from Balmain.

True to the theme, Elle’s sculptural off-the-shoulder wrap dress with songbirds emerging from each band and a bodice that shimmered like water.

She chose to wear silver heels and diamond earrings from Cartier.

Hubadera queen Emily Ratajowski did it again with another barely there song. She wore a vintage one dress with long sleeves and open back, dripping with silver crystals from Versace.
