Hong Kong police arrest five suspected robbers as a group storms into a jewelry store

Hong Kong police arrested at least five men on Tuesday over what appeared to be a botched robbery of a watch and jewelry store in the city’s bustling Tsim Sha Tsui shopping district, the Post learned.

According to a source familiar with the case, officers were called to the VIP Station store along Haiphong Road shortly before noon, just as four of the suspects entered the store. A fifth man was arrested outside the store, he added.

“Initial investigation revealed that the gang had a knife and what appeared to be a gun at the time,” the insider said.

The insider said officers arrested at least four men at the scene and that no shots were fired during the incident.

Another source said the arrests took place after officers laid an ambush for the group.

Officers have cordoned off the area while investigators gather information.
