Kim Ju-hyun speaks about his appointment as the new Senior Secretary for Civil Affairs at the presidential office in Seoul on May 7.

President Yoon Suk Yeol said on Tuesday he has revived the position of senior presidential secretary for Civil Affairs and appointed a former deputy justice minister to the post.

Kim Ju-hyun, a former prosecutor who served as deputy justice minister in 2015, has been appointed senior secretary for Civil Affairs, Yoon told reporters at the presidential office.

The position, which dealt with legal and anti-corruption issues, was abolished when Yoon took office two years ago. Yoon said he decided to revive the position to better listen to public sentiment. (Yonhap)
