From glitter to sleek dresses, see the best-dressed celebrities of the 2024 Met Gala!

The 2024 Met Gala was expected to look like a fairy tale, but the Costume Institute’s goal wasn’t to revive the classic stories. Instead, if Fashion explained that the theme “had nothing to do with the Brothers Grimm or Disney, but rather is a celebration of clothes and fashion that are so fragile that they can never be worn again – and are therefore sleeping beauties in the meticulously kept archives of The Costume Institute.”

The publication also pointed out that viewers should expect to see “a range of fashions, dating back to a 17th-century English bodice from the Elizabethan era, that embodies the beauty of the natural world – its fragility and inevitable decay.” More modern, less delicate pieces imbued with the same spirit as the spotlight fashions will be displayed alongside, and split into three sub-themes: Land, Sea and Sky.”
