SOS, please: Rihanna missed the 2024 Met Gala.

The Fenty Beauty founder — who recently debuted a pink hair transformation — was unable to bow on the red carpet at the 2024 Met Gala on May 6 after coming down with the flu, her rep confirmed to E! News. (See every star you can’t miss at the Met Gala here.)

Rihanna’s absence from this year’s event comes after she and A$AP Rocky — with whom she shares children RZA, 23 months, and Riot, 8 months — closed the 2023 Met Gala red carpet as a couple.

The “Diamonds” singer, who was pregnant with the couple’s second son at the time, even had love on her mind when it came to honoring late designer Karl Lagerfeld. ICYMI, for the occasion she wore a white Valentino dress covered in Chanel’s iconic Camellia flower, with an epic train.

And while she couldn’t make it to the 2024 Met Gala’s “Garden of Time” dress code, she did tease that her look would look unexpected.

“I’m coming as an extra this year,” she told E! exclusively. News in late April, adding that she just “came for dinner.”

And why did she plan to go for such a chill look this time? “I’m a mother,” she added. “I don’t have time for a lot of things.”
