9 Creatures From Idaho With A Bad Reputation For Attacking Humans

What drives some animals to bite humans?

Sometimes it’s instinctive. Perceived threats, unknown and terrifying situations can compel any creature, human or otherwise, to lash out. Just like with humans, the list of what drives an animal to bite someone is virtually limitless.

In addition to hunting prey, there are a number of typical factors and scenarios that lead to animals attacking and biting humans, according to the Centers for Disease Control.

Some animals are wild or house-trained and may become aggressive if they sense a threat or feel the need to defend their children or territory. Pain is another triggering factor. Animals or creatures that are sick or in any degree of pain may bite or react violently when touched or approached by a human or other animal.

And of course, taunting, mistreating, or abusing a human is likely to provoke a violent response from all of Idaho’s wildlife residents.

Accidents happen.

Whether it’s a stroll along Boise’s Greenbelt or a hike through the beautiful foothills, it’s important that you are aware of your surroundings. Unless you want to end up in the emergency room, it’s always wise to keep distance between yourself and Idaho’s wildlife.
