SMVDU students attend Central University of Himachal Pradesh

JAMMU, May 6: Students of School of Mathematics, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) visited Central University of Himachal Pradesh (CUHP), Dharamshala for their three-day educational tour.
During the tour, students interacted with CUHP faculty and students about various facets of their teaching and learning. Professor Rakesh Kumar, Head of Srinivasa Ramanujan Department of Mathematics, CUHP, delivered a lecture on innovative learning and various presentation skills.
The tour aimed to provide an opportunity to understand the educational, cultural and ecological landscapes of the region. From a broader perspective, this tour allowed the students to learn more about new situations in an informal environment. Students had the opportunity to observe many things that are not available during classroom teaching, including the learning environment at a different national level, varying sociometric levels, the impact of infrastructural developments on the environment, etc. The tour experience improved their learning process, compassion for the people, and inspired them to work towards sustainable development of society.
Dr. Kuldip Raj, Head of School of Mathematics (SOM), Dr Surender Singh, Dr Sunil Kumar Sharma and Dr Nitin Bisht accompanied the students during the educational tour.
Dr. Surender Singh, AP, SOM was the faculty coordinator, and Saksham Kudyar, Dhruv were the student coordinators of the tour. Dr. Kuldip Raj, Head of SOM, thanked the CUHP administration and Professor Rakesh Kumar, CUHP for making the necessary arrangements for the visit to CUHP.
