Criminal charges are filed against a Farmington Hills woman accused of sexually assaulting two teenage boys while she was employed at Wayne County’s Juvenile Detention Center.

Svetlana Kuryanova, 33, is facing two counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct – county jailer in connection with alleged incidents last month at the detention facility in the 3500 block of Hamtramck Drive in Hamtramck. If convicted, she faces up to 15 years in prison.

According to the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office, it’s alleged that Kuryanova assaulted two juveniles, ages 16 and 17, at around 7 pm on April 8 while working as a juvenile detention specialist.

“The allegations in this case are among the most disturbing ones that I have seen. It is hard to wrap my brain around the fact that this occurred in the Juvenile Detention Facility, and (the) charged defendant is allegedly responsible for this illegal behavior,” Prosecutor Kym Worthy stated in a news release.

At arraignment May 6 in 31st District Court in Hamtramck, Judge Alexis Krot set bond at $75,000.

The alleged incidents were investigated by the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office. Additional evidence on the allegations is expected to be presented at Kuryanova’s preliminary examination. Her next court appearance is scheduled for May 16 for a probable cause conference.
