Lisa Snowdon ‘still suffers to this day’ from a serious illness she survived years ago

Lisa Snowdon has admitted she is ‘still suffering’ after contracting viral meningitis years ago which left her in hospital for two weeks.

The 52-year-old This Morning star took to Instagram to share a video supporting Viral Meningitis Awareness Week, as she opened up about her own experiences with the serious illness.




Looking fantastic in a red and black printed dress and with her long dark hair worn straight and shiny with dewy make-up, she explained: ‘As someone who has had viral meningitis, I know all too well how those symptoms can stay with you, and how frustrating it can be.”

In her lengthy caption, she spoke about the work of Meningitis Now’s awareness campaign, explaining that she “suffered from headaches, memory loss and depression for years” after contracting the disease.

She wrote: ‘People are often told they will feel better in a few weeks, but for many recovery takes much longer and many experience after-effects including fatigue, memory problems and anxiety.

“It took a lot longer for my symptoms to go away, I suffered from headaches, memory loss and depression for years. To this day I still suffer from headaches and when I get exhausted or sick it is my head that still keeps me causes a lot of pain.” ..


“It’s my weak point after suffering badly from viral meningitis for over three weeks and not getting any help until it was almost too late and I was in hospital for two weeks.”
