Rohith Vemula’s mother meets CM Revanth; Seeks justice

Hyderabad, May 4 (Maxim News): Rohith Vemula’s mother Radhika Vemula Met Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy here Saturday and urged him to ensure “justice” is done for the family.

Revanth assured her that another investigation would be conducted into the University of Hyderabad suicide of a student in 2016 and that justice would be served, an official press release said.

Police have filed a closure report in a local court in its investigation into the death of Rohith Vemula, a student of University of Hyderabad. Dalit and died on suicide in 2016 because he feared that his “real castewould be discovered.

Telangana DGP Ravi Gupta has already announced that it will conduct further investigation into the matter in view of the doubts expressed by Rohith Vemula’s mother and others about the closure report.

A petition will be filed in the concerned court requesting the magistrate to allow further investigation into the matter, he said in a statement on Friday evening.

The police gave a clean chit to the suspect, including the incumbent Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya, former BJP MLC N. Camchander Rao and cited lack of evidence in the case. (Maxim news)
