A man in the Nigerian Army, Kolawole Oludare Stephen, has released his UTME result on social media as he reacted to the poor performance of the 2024 JAMB examination.

JAMB had said that only 0.5% of its 2024 candidates scored 300 and above, while 76% scored 199 and below.

Kolawole’s 2011 UTME experience

In a Facebook post, the soldier said he had barely completed three years of service when he was urged to return to school, which led to him taking the JAMB exam in 2011.

Kolawole stated that there was no time to read, but he still managed to spend little time preparing for the exam.

“…There was actually no time for reading, you would always see me with a piece of paper when I was not on watch. Like an Ondo born medieval native doctor, I used to sing things to myself just to information to be retained.”

On the day of the exam, Kolawole said he made up a lie to get excused as he was on duty that day and did not spend a maximum of 40 minutes on the exam. In his words:

“Go write an exam” doesn’t sound convincing, so I had to give a more reasonable excuse to leave my post. I met my guard commander and told him to allow me to use the ATM, buy food and take it home. Baba Sha gave me an hour.

“I took many factors into account. The time to go to the exam center and back was fixed at 30 minutes. I gave myself 40 minutes to write my exams.

“The exam had already started when I arrived. I quickly went through the questions. I spent 5 minutes reading through the instructions and questions. I finished in 40 minutes, submitted and left the room…”

Kolawole wades into 2024 UTME poor performance

The soldier shared a copy of his post-UTME result from Evan Enwerem University, which showed that he scored 224 in the 2011 UTME.

He also had 276 in the post-UTME. Sharing his views on the poor performance of students in the just concluded UTME, Kolawole blamed several factors.

“Failed parenthood – mumu born mumu. Pablo marries pablet born pablese. All shades of abnormality.

“Decline in the quality of education – the government doesn’t care.

“Lack of willpower.”

NECO results from hopeful trends in the military

In the meantime, Legit.ng previously reported that the NECO result of a young girl who wants to join the Nigerian Army had provoked reactions.

An excited Emmanuel took to Facebook to share her result as she appreciated her sponsors and God for making it possible. In a moving Facebook post, Emmanuel revealed that she took the exam five years after leaving high school.

She said lack of finances made it difficult for her to get her WAEC and she was able to take NECO because a kind-hearted guy, Raymond paid for it after another young man, Egboka Victory, published her emotional appeal on Facebook.
