Charges are pending after waste is dumped into the ocean

According to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, “charges” are pending in the case of several young boaters who were caught on camera dumping trash into the ocean off Boca Raton on April 28.

In a news release late Thursday evening, FWC spokesperson Arielle Callender said: “Two occupants of the boat can be seen dumping trash cans full of trash into the water. While this investigation remains ongoing, FWC investigators have identified the two juvenile suspects and are working closely with the Palm Beach County Prosecutor’s Office on appropriate charges.”

Video footage of the incident, captured by the popular Instagram account Wavy Boats, sparked outrage online and went viral.
