However, Mike’s mother, Barbara Scott, and Cathy’s mother, Violet Taylor, were also found dead. The two women were in their eighties.

Of the four, one of the victims was found in the bedroom, the rest were in the study. Each of the victims suffered at least one gunshot wound, NBC News reported. However, the investigation hit a roadblock in December 2023 when Amy Vilardi and Rosmore Vilardi were charged with the crimes.

Police have charged Amy Vilardi and Rosmore Vilardi with four counts of murder in the Pendleton quadruple homicide. After the murder became sensationalized in the media, Amy reportedly went public and said the victims “just didn’t deserve this.” She also called them “great people.” She also told the media that police had not revealed details to her about the investigation, leaving her unaware of the details of the case’s leads, according to Independent.

During the preliminary investigation, Amy Vilardi reportedly told authorities that her parents generally had a hearty lunch on Sundays. Because the day of the murder was a Sunday, forensic examination revealed evidence indicating that the victims had a large meal. It was reportedly eaten about an hour before the murder. CBS News reported that a family member who regularly visited the home reportedly stopped by that day. He claimed he arrived at the scene around 3:30 PM but no one was there. After this, the police concluded that the murder probably took place that day around 1 p.m.
