Assistant COO of TIEZA sheds light on PH as a major tourist destination

Atty. Karen Mae G. Sarinas-Baydo, the assistant General manager of the Tourism Enterprise Zone Management Sector of the Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA), delivered her keynote speech entitled “Philippines: Your Next Investment Destination – Embracing its beauty, opportunities, and potential for outsiders” during the 10th edition of the Philippine Property and Investment Exhibition (PPIE), the largest Philippine international real estate and investment exhibition.

Atty. Sarinas-Baydo took the opportunity to showcase the Philippines as a major tourism destination, highlighting the abundant investment prospects in key domestic regions.

In addition, she highlighted the initiatives of the UAE’s tourism sector, including setting up a booth at the 2024 Annual Investment Meeting in Abu Dhabi and organizing business briefings with real estate developers and hospitality groups in both Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

“The government recognizes the critical role of private sector investment and is therefore committed to continuously improving the business environment,” she said.

She emphasizes that investing in Philippine tourism goes beyond just making a profit. As Filipinos, it allows us to reconnect with our roots and contribute to the development of our homeland.

“By partnering with local communities and supporting sustainable tourism practices, investors have the power to stimulate economic growth, create jobs, and preserve the Philippines’ natural beauty and cultural heritage for generations to come,” she added to it.

However, these opportunities are not only limited to overseas Filipinos, but also to foreign investors who may be interested.

Atty. Sarinas-Baydo also briefed the audience on the bilateral agreements between the UAE and the Philippines, and expressed her expectations for the expansion of involvement in the tourism sector.
